- Range Literary Publishing announced 'The Philosophy of Time Travel,' a novel sequel to 'Donnie Darko' written by filmmaker Richard Kelly, set for Q4 release as the imprint's first major novel project.
- Jeff Speich, a former CAA agent who leads RLP, said the imprint links a real publishing house with a production and management company, operating across memoir, fiction, non-fiction, and children's books.
- RLP's 2025-2027 slate includes 'Kenan and Kel Meet Zombies' graphic novel, debut novel 'Burnout' by Range founding partner Michael Cooper (already in early film development at Range Studios), 'The Grove of Lost Things' by Gabe Basso, 'Big Love, Little Love' by Bhavna Shyamalan, 'How We Host' by Akilah Releford Gould, and thriller 'Temples of Iron' by Mark DeFriest.
- Range Comics (RC), spun out of RLP after its inaugural release, published Shaboozey's 'The Outlaw Cherie Lee' earlier this month — based on his concept album — with Range's film group already in conversations about packaging it as a visual property.
- RLP's first release in December was the limited special edition graphic novel 'HYDE' with Jesse Negron, Johnny Depp and Ridley Scott — a reimagining of 'Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde' — whose learnings seeded RC's launch.
- RLP struck a worldwide distribution partnership with Two Rivers, an Ingram Content Group-owned publisher coordinating direct sales with more than 40,000 retail accounts worldwide.
Why it matters: For the first time, a major Hollywood talent-management company is operating its own in-house publishing imprint — giving Range Media Partners first crack at packaging novel IP for film and TV before competitors ever read a manuscript. Cooper's 'Burnout' is already moving from manuscript to in-house film development at Range Studios, collapsing the typical publishing-to-adaptation timeline into one building.
