- HP launched the OmniBook Ultra 16 and OmniBook X 14, both among the first laptops announced with the second Nvidia RTX Spark N1X configuration pairing an 18-core CPU with a 5,120-core Blackwell RTX GPU, with the regular 20-core/6,144-core variant also available.
- The OmniBook Ultra 16 pairs those RTX Spark options with a 16-inch 2,880x1,800 OLED touchscreen at up to 120Hz, up to 128GB of LPDDR5X-9400 RAM, a 2TB PCIe Gen5 NVMe SSD, and HP's claim of up to 1 PFLOP of FP4 AI performance for the top config.
- The 14-inch OmniBook X 14 matches the same RTX Spark chip choices and up to 128GB of LPDDR5X-9400 unified memory, but trims to dual speakers, a dual-fan/dual-heat-pipe cooling system with IR-based thermal management, an 80Wh battery rated at 15 hours, and a 1.71kg chassis.
- Both OmniBooks share Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, two 40 Gbps USB-C ports with DisplayPort 2.1 and USB Power Delivery, two 10 Gbps USB-A ports, a 3.5mm jack, and a 140W USB-C GaN charger, with the Ultra 16 adding a microSD reader and HP's first consumer-laptop "tower hinge and trunk" thermal design.
- HP has not disclosed pricing for either machine, a pattern the source notes is recurring across RTX Spark-powered SKUs shown off at IFA 2026, though both laptops are slated to be available by this fall.
Why it matters: HP joins Lenovo's Yoga 9n 2-in-1 as the first wave of RTX Spark N1X laptops, but with HP declining to reveal pricing alongside already-announced competitors, buyers chasing the 18-core N1X config can't yet compare value — meaning the local-AI laptop race is being measured in specs, not dollars, until fall.
