- Bitcoin climbed back above $82,000 on Friday, a day after briefly falling below $80,000, and gained nearly 1% on the day, according to CoinDesk data.
- ZEC led the crypto bounce with an 11% jump to about $1,230, even as its only U.S. spot ETF lost roughly $15 million — its fifth outflow this month, per SoSoValue.
- SOL rose about 3% to roughly $106 and ether gained more than 3% to about $2,450, while ether ETFs shed about $60 million and SOL funds lost nearly $10 million (ninth straight day of withdrawals).
- DOGE and XRP each added 2–3%, and BNB, HYPE, and TRX rose about 1%.
- Bitcoin spot ETFs drew a thin net $5 million inflow after Wednesday's $261 million exit; a second straight day of inflows would be the first sign the bounce has buyers behind it.
Why it matters: The price bounce diverged sharply from ETF flows: SOL saw a ninth straight day of withdrawals (~$10M), ether ETFs shed ~$60M, and ZEC's only U.S. fund lost $15M despite the token's 11% surge. A second consecutive day of bitcoin ETF inflows would be the first stated confirmation that the recovery has institutional buyers behind it.
