- Xu Xiang's "Live Photo" uses the iPhone's Live Photo feature as its central metaphor, following a man on the last day of a divorce cooling-off period revisiting old photographs as his marriage memories unravel
- The SIFF ING section is designed to draw on the creative energy of younger filmmakers from diverse cultural backgrounds and give them access to broader industry platforms
Why it matters: The Mobile Filmmaking Camp positions iPhone filmmaking as a legitimate, structured pipeline for early-career Chinese directors rather than a novelty: participants received professional equipment, production funding, and full mentorship, then screened at a major international film festival.
