- Como prepare for a Champions League tie against Manchester United that a club staff member called "without doubt the biggest night in the club's history"
- Manchester United travel to Italy on a six-game winless streak — their worst run since 2018-19 — as they bid to steady what the article calls "a full-blown crisis"
- Under manager Cesc Fabregas, Como climbed from Serie B to the Champions League in five seasons, finishing fourth in 2025-26 after AC Milan's shock loss at Cagliari
- The club was bought in 2019 by Sent Entertainment, owned by Indonesian billionaires Robert Budi Hartono and Michael Bambang Hartono, originally as a TV project screening matches for young Indonesian players
- Como's 12,300-capacity Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia is three-quarters uncovered, which becomes an issue if forecast heavy rain at kick-off arrives
- UEFA will not amend its financial fair play rules to suit Como's rise, though chief executive Mirwan Surwaso told Piers Morgan's Football Uncensored podcast the club "always have our books in order"
Why it matters: Como's five-season journey from Serie D to Champions League football — achieved under Fabregas after the Hartono brothers' 2019 takeover — collides immediately with UEFA's unchanged financial fair play rules, testing whether a club whose original business plan was scrapped after promotion can survive Europe's elite competition on its current footing.
