- CoinShares launched its first UCITS ETF in Europe, trading under ticker MINE on Deutsche Börse Xetra and tracking publicly listed Bitcoin mining companies
- The ETF is Irish-domiciled and physically replicated, following the CoinShares Bitcoin Mining Index administered by Solactive AG
- The fund debuted at 19.50 euros ($21.74) per share, with 60 units trading for a turnover of 1,184 euros on its first session
- CoinShares set the UCITS fund's total expense ratio at 0.65%, with the basket rebalancing quarterly
- The comparable US-listed WGMI CoinShares Bitcoin Mining ETF holds $343.6 million in net assets, offering a size benchmark for the new European product
- UCITS status lets the fund be marketed across multiple EU jurisdictions under a single harmonized regulatory framework
Why it matters: European investors can now access a Bitcoin mining equity basket through a UCITS-wrapper ETF without buying the US-listed WGMI, which holds $343.6 million in net assets. At a 0.65% expense ratio, the Xetra listing tests whether the same demand CoinShares captured in the US extends across the EU's harmonized fund passport.
