- Egypt agreed to help Saudi Arabia defend itself against Houthi attacks, per Politico and AP News.
- The commitment came specifically from Egypt's top security body, according to AP News.
Why it matters: Egypt committing to defend Saudi Arabia against Houthi strikes formalizes a direct Egyptian-Saudi partnership against the group, giving Riyadh a fellow Arab state's commitment to back its defense.
