- Genesis unveiled the GV90 full-size flagship electric SUV at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, nearly two and a half years after the Neolun concept preview, with Hyundai Motor Company CEO José Muñoz saying the vehicle offers "the very best" the brand has and "opens a new chapter for Genesis."
- The GV90 Neolun Arch Gate variant features "the world's first independently opening and closing hidden B-pillar coach doors" via a dual-motion hinge, with Genesis replacing the removed B-pillar with dual steel beams and a concealed roll cage roughly 1.5 times thicker than average.
- Built on Hyundai's new eMP platform, the GV90 carries a 123.5 kWh battery pack delivering an estimated 310 miles (500 km) of range for the 7-seat version, with 350 kW DC fast charging taking the battery from 10% to 80% in 22 minutes.
- The dual-motor AWD system produces a combined 657 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque — "the most powerful performance of any Hyundai Motor Group EV yet" — paired with Dual E-LSD on both axles and active Rear Wheel Steering that turns the rear wheels up to five degrees.
- Inside, the flagship debuts Hyundai's Pleos Connect infotainment system on Android Automotive OS, a pop-up OLED Cinematic Display that extends from 23.6″ to 24.6″ when parked, a 25″ Head-Up Display that replaces the instrument cluster, and a 25-speaker Bang & Olufsen Premier 3D sound system.
- The Neolun Executive Suite 4-seat configuration adds a built-in refrigerator, Korean "ondol"-inspired radiant heating, a Comfort Partition with roll blinds for privacy, and a second-row tower console with integrated tables.
- The GV90 Neolun First Edition is a limited launch trim with three exclusive two-tone exterior palettes, 24″ forged wheels, a wool-cashmere interior, and a First Edition logo engraved on the Crystal Sphere Controller, headrests, and doorsteps.
Why it matters: The GV90 becomes the most powerful EV in the Hyundai Motor Group lineup at 657 hp, and with world-first features like independently opening coach doors and a roof airbag, it positions Genesis as a serious entrant in the ultra-luxury SUV segment. Hyundai Motor Company CEO José Muñoz framed the reveal as a vehicle that "opens a new chapter" for the brand — its first true flagship.
