- Bill Nighy won best host at the 10th annual British Podcast Awards for his podcast "Ill-Advised," beating Louis Theroux, Katherine Ryan and Lily Allen.
- Nighy, 76, known for Love Actually, Living and the Underworld franchise, was described by award organisers as having an "irresistibly endearing series" dishing out wry advice to listeners.
- Pete Wicks' Man Made won two awards — best interview podcast and best health & wellbeing podcast — at the Thursday ceremony.
- Sean Bean's Get Birding, a birdwatching series, took two prizes — best lifestyle podcast and best video innovation.
- Hold or Fold, the Prison Radio Association's series about problem gambling, won podcast of the year and best factual podcast.
- Hard Launch with Dan & Phil, hosted by YouTube veterans Dan Howell and Phil Lester, won the Listeners' Choice award via fan vote.
Why it matters: The 10th British Podcast Awards showcase established public figures dominating the prestige categories: Bill Nighy's win as best host is framed as a "reinvention as an agony uncle," while celebrity-led shows swept six trophies across the night (Nighy, Pete Wicks, and Sean Bean). For UK podcasting, this signals that recognition is concentrating around familiar faces rather than emerging audio-first talent.
