- Empire Studios, Rascal Entertainment, Green 13 Films, and VMI Worldwide have partnered on the survival thriller 'Snow Predator,' directed by Coz Greenop and currently shooting at Shinfield Studios in the UK.
- 'Snow Predator' stars Daniel Stisen, Eloise Lovell Anderson, Jason Flemyng, Genevieve Chenneour, Jack McEvoy, Daniel O'Reilly, Jack Parr, Cole Anderson James, Crystal Wright, Melina Farahani, Neve O'Reilly, Mya Greenop, and Tim Cullingworth-Hudson.
- The plot follows Betty (Anderson), who inherits a remote cabin from her estranged father, ventures into the frozen Canadian wilderness with friends, and becomes trapped by a brutal storm while hunted by a relentless polar bear, forcing a Search and Rescue team led by Scott (Stisen) to race to reach them.
- The film is produced by Charley McDougall, Jamie McLeod-Ross, Luke Adams, Andre Relis, and Jessica Russo, with Daniel O'Reilly, Jade Jelly, Julie Paquit, Mickey Guerin, Bradley Stryker, and Rustin Matthew serving as executive producers.
- VMI Worldwide is handling worldwide sales for the title.
- Writer-producer McDougall said in a statement: 'The ambition is to make something that feels and delivers the kind of visceral, edge-of-your-seat experience audiences want from this genre.'
Why it matters: VMI Worldwide landing worldwide sales duties on a still-shooting UK indie gives the distributor a fresh survival-thriller property to pitch at upcoming markets, while the four-party co-production (Empire, Rascal, Green 13, VMI) spreads financial exposure across multiple entities rather than concentrating risk on one backer.
