Why it matters: Owners of iPhones older than the iPhone 15 Pro — a large installed base — are locked out of Apple's most ambitious Siri overhaul. The two-tier gating is the real story: even within the 'compatible' device list, the premium Siri experience (customizable voice, top on-device model) is reserved for iPhone 17 Pro/Air, M4+ iPads with 12GB RAM, and M3+ Macs, sharpening the upgrade pitch heading into a fall launch.
