‘Ransom Canyon’ Soundtrack: All The Songs You’ll Hear In Both Seasons Of The Netflix Western Romance Series

- Music supervisor Madonna Wade Reed organized singer/songwriter bootcamps in Nashville and Los Angeles to source new original music for Ransom Canyon Season 2, with three songs in the new season (bolded in the source list) coming directly out of those bootcamps.

- Showrunner April Blair leads the Netflix Western drama, adapted from Jodi Thomas' novel of the same name; Reed previously worked with Blair on Reign and All American before joining Ransom Canyon.
- Season 2's needle drops include The Black Keys' "Eagle Birds" (Episode 2), Teddy Swims' "Lose Control" (Episode 5), and Maddie & Tae's "Kissing Cowboys" (Episode 7), alongside deeper-cuts from Charlie Marie, Elijah Honey, and Pynk Beard.
- Ransom Canyon Season 2 runs eight episodes with titles like "Hey There, Cowboy" and "No Place Like Home," while Season 1 spans ten episodes with tracks from Gavin DeGraw, Smashing Pumpkins, Beck, and Mazzy Star.
Why it matters: The bootcamp model is a concrete alternative to post-production sync licensing — Reed hosted songwriters in Nashville and LA to develop compositions from scratch, and three of those tracks made the final Season 2 cut. Paired with embedded live performances by Thomas Rhett/Jordan Davis and Charlie Crockett, the process gives Netflix's Western a country-music authenticity that pure track-licensing cannot replicate.
