- Mercedes-Benz secured priority access to ProLogium's Gen4 solid-state battery cells under a new joint test agreement announced Thursday, with testing to cover electrical, thermal, and safety performance at specialized external institutes.
- ProLogium's Gen4 cells deliver energy density up to 400 Wh/kg and ultra-fast charging from 5% to 80% in 6.4 minutes, using a non-flammable inorganic electrolyte and ceramic separator to address cold-weather performance and safety.
- ProLogium opened its first GWh-class gigafactory in Taiwan in May 2024 and broke ground on a second plant in Dunkirk, France in February, scaling to 44 GWh of annual capacity when fully operational by 2030.

Why it matters: Mercedes secures a priority lane on ProLogium's Gen4 solid-state cells — which ProLogium says is the only publicly operating solid-state mass-production line — but won't put them in a production EV until 2030.
