- Kristoffer Ajer scored late to salvage a 2-2 draw for Brentford at Aston Villa, extending the club's unbeaten start to the new Premier League season
- Aston Villa's wait for a first home Premier League win of the season continues as the result at Villa Park denied them all three points
Why it matters: Brentford's unbeaten run through the opening stretch of the season bolsters their standing as they settle into the Premier League, while Aston Villa's inability to convert home matches into wins — now without a victory at Villa Park this season — is an early pressure point for a club with European expectations.
