- Kia launched the 2027 EV3 in the US starting at $29,890, matching the refreshed 2027 Niro Hybrid's MSRP and undercutting the outgoing 2026 Niro EV ($39,700) by nearly $10,000.
- The 2027 Niro is now sold exclusively as a hybrid, with Kia confirming the all-electric Niro was retired because the EV3 — built on a dedicated E-GMP platform — replaces it.
- The EV3 is offered in five trims (Light, Wind, Land, GT-Line, GT) with two battery packs: a 58.3 kWh pack delivering up to 221 miles of EPA range and an 81.4 kWh pack delivering up to 321 miles.
- EV3 powertrains range from a single 201 hp front motor (FWD) to a 261 hp dual-motor AWD setup, with the range-topping GT producing up to 288 hp; AWD adds $3,200 to all but the base Light trim.
- All EV3 trims ship with a native NACS port for direct Tesla Supercharger access, and 350 kW DC fast charging replenishes either battery from 10% to 80% in roughly 29–31 minutes.
- Kia cites strong overseas demand — the EV3 was the third best-selling EV in the UK and 10th in Europe in its first year — as a signal the sub-$30K crossover could find a similar niche in the US market.
