- Max Holloway is set to face Conor McGregor at UFC 329 next weekend at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas
- Holloway proposed a December rematch trilogy at Allegiant Stadium if he wins, saying McGregor had told him he didn't want to wait a year for his next fight after this one
- McGregor's last appearance was the July 2021 knockout loss to Dustin Poirier in which he suffered a broken leg, and he has gone 1-3 in his four UFC fights since his August 2017 boxing match with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
- McGregor has said he has two fights left on his UFC contract, and the promotion has discussed booking his next fight for April 2027
- Holloway is coming off a lopsided loss to Charles Oliveira in a BMF title fight in March and is 2-2 across his last four fights
- UFC parent TKO has a deal for four events per year at T-Mobile Arena, and Holloway acknowledged Dana White's general reluctance to host stadium shows — despite the UFC running an outdoor White House event last month and White promoting the September Canelo Alvarez–Terence Crawford boxing super fight at Allegiant Stadium
Why it matters: If Holloway wins and the promotion books December at Allegiant, McGregor would log two UFC appearances in one calendar year, overriding the April 2027 timeline already discussed for his next fight and pressing White to bless a stadium-scale card he'd historically resisted.
