- Mandalorian & Grogu (Disney) opened to $163M worldwide across 52 territories in its first frame — $63M international and $100M domestic over the four-day Memorial Day weekend — ranking as the year's fourth-highest MPA overseas opening in like-for-like markets and third-highest domestic opening, and posting the highest Imax-indexing of any Star Wars title in China.
- Michael (Universal/Lionsgate) added $55.1M globally in its fifth weekend for a $789.2M worldwide cume ($468.1M international, $321.1M domestic), with a June Japan release expected to push it toward Bohemian Rhapsody's $911M final; in Brazil the Antoine Fuqua biopic is now Universal's second-biggest film ever, ahead of Fast 7, 8, and 10.
- Dear You (Alibaba) added $39.5M in its fourth weekend for a $151.5M worldwide cume, with the Hongchun Yan-directed Chaoshan-set drama — made for a reported $2M — credited by the South China Morning Post with spurring tourism in eastern Guangdong province.
- Devil Wears Prada 2 lifted its worldwide cume to $608M ($408M international, $200M domestic) in its fourth frame, remaining the #4 MPA release of 2026 globally and #3 overseas, while giving Disney two of the year's top five international MPA titles alongside Mandalorian & Grogu.
- Obsession (Universal) earned $39.2M worldwide in its second frame, with the $1M-production-cost horror posting the year's biggest horror opening in Saudi Arabia ($506K at 128 screens, above Scream 7) and the UAE ($486K at 94 screens), and already surpassing Bring Her Back's lifetime.
- Colony, Yeon Sang-ho's Korean zombie action film, debuted to $9.4M in South Korea (72% of the marketplace) over a frame where Mandalorian & Grogu had not yet opened there, after world-premiering in Cannes' Midnight section.
- Mortal Kombat II added $10.4M worldwide in its third weekend for a $119.5M cume, putting the Simon McQuoid-directed feature within striking distance of the 1995 original's reported $122.1M global gross.
Why it matters: Mandalorian & Grogu's $163M global bow — $100M of it domestic — gives Disney two of 2026's top five MPA releases internationally alongside Devil Wears Prada 2, and the title ran +45% ahead of Project Hail Mary and +36% ahead of Solo across Latin America. Michael's $789.2M cume, with Japan still pending in June, positions Universal to challenge Bohemian Rhapsody's $911M musical biopic benchmark.
