- Hardison, Guy, Cree Summer, and Darryl M. Bell will reprise their roles from the original six-season NBC series, preserving direct lineage from the 1987 spinoff of 'The Cosby Show.'
- Felicia Pride serves as writer, executive producer, and showrunner, while Debbie Allen is set to direct three episodes including the first, with Allen also executive producing alongside Tom Werner, Gina Prince-Bythewood, and Reggie Rock Bythewood.
- The series followed an extended development path: first reported in development at the streamer in 2024, it received a rare Netflix pilot order in March 2025 and was formally picked up to series in November 2025.
