Why it matters: Five years of data show just a 16% rate for running backs 28+ finishing as top-15 fantasy scorers (average age 25.3), meaning drafters reaching for McCaffrey, Barkley or Henry in rounds 1-5 are betting against a durable trend; meanwhile, the 88% first-three-round NFL draft pedigree among top fantasy receivers gives a clear edge to anyone who anchors their board around Chase, Nacua, Smith-Njigba and Jefferson.
