- Eros Innovation launched Eros Music Worlds, an AI-powered label built on a proprietary Large Cultural Model (LCM) trained on the "cultural, emotional and performative grammar of Indian cinema, music and storytelling"
- Seven AI-native artists drawn from established Eros characters will release music across alternative rock, Bollywood pop, rap, dark folk, indie pop, and devotional, sufi and Indian folk catalogs
- Jordan (alternative rock) and Tanu (Bollywood pop aimed at Gen Z) debuted first, with content rolling out across Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music and JioSaavn
- The label signed a strategic partnership with the Mohammed Rafi family for new recordings, an ABBA Voyage-style live concert residency, and the Mohammed Rafi Academy music education institution
- The first album under the Rafi partnership launches July 31 across major platforms, with revenue participation flowing back to the estate under documented rights and clearances
- Ridhima Lulla, Eros Innovation Co-Founder and Co-President, framed the technology as "the instrument" with human composition and creative leads directing at every step
- Shahid Rafi, son of Mohammed Rafi, said the partnership honors his father's legacy "with both pride and care" after the family "considered carefully" before welcoming it
Why it matters: For the Mohammed Rafi estate, this offers a revenue-sharing path to keep a 1924-1980 icon commercially active in the streaming era. For Eros, it pairs proprietary AI infrastructure with a rights-clean model using human composition and licensed training data — a direct counter to the unlicensed-training controversies roiling generative AI music.
