- Islam Makhachev won a record-setting 17th consecutive UFC fight, earning a unanimous decision over Ian Machado Garry to retain the welterweight title in the UFC 330 main event at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia.
- Ian Machado Garry knocked Makhachev down with a Round 2 head kick and fended off takedowns and submission attempts, but couldn't convince the judges.
- Mackenzie Dern dominated Gillian Robertson in the co-main event to earn her first strawweight title defense, leaning on her grappling advantage to control and outpoint her opponent on the scorecards.
- UFC 330 took place Saturday night in Philadelphia, with both champions retaining via unanimous decision after leaning on grappling-heavy game plans.
Why it matters: Both Makhachev and Dern retained their titles on the same Philadelphia card via grappling-based decisions, with Makhachev's 17th straight win extending his pound-for-pound standing and tightening his grip on the welterweight division for the next contender.
