- Joan Jett and the Blackhearts announced 'I Love Rock 'N Roll + The Shadow Album,' a limited edition collection marking the original record's 45th anniversary
- The collection is set for December 11, 2026 release, offered as both a two-record vinyl set and a two-CD set
- The package includes a previously unreleased 'shadow album' — a companion record connected to the original sessions that has not previously been made public
- Joan Jett is a Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, a credential the announcement leads with to frame the project as a legacy release
Why it matters: A 45th-anniversary release paired with a previously unheard 'shadow album' is the kind of vault release that draws both longtime Joan Jett fans and collectors, and the limited two-format (vinyl + CD) packaging positions it as a premium catalog item rather than a casual reissue.
