Tom Morello Previews New Album With Anti-Fascist 'Date Night'

- Tom Morello will release his new solo album "Everyone Gets Everything They Want" on Sept. 25 via Mom + Pop Music — a 10-track LP featuring Serj Tankian, Kneecap, Beartooth, and his son Roman Morello, with production by Tyler Smyth, Carl Restivo, Zakk Cervini, Dan Carey, and Sam Nelson Harris.
- "Date Night" is the album's second single, recounting the true WWII story of three young Dutch women who seduced Nazi officers, lured them into the woods, and killed them; Morello said Roman Morello wrote the song's riff.
- The previously released lead single "Adjourn It" features Tankian and Roman Morello and, per Morello, takes aim at "the rising tide of racism and anti-immigrant bigotry."
- The Power to the People Festival, set for Oct. 3 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, is billed as a celebration of "peace, justice, solidarity, music, and community action," with a lineup including Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews, Joan Baez, Public Enemy, Killer Mike, Brittany Howard, Dropkick Murphys, Jack Black, Serj Tankian, and the Linda Lindas.
- Morello recently wrapped a tour with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band and performed at Newport Folk Festival, and is next slated for Louder Than Life in Louisville on Sept. 19.
