- Solinas Integrity raised $5.5 million in a Series A1 funding round led by Hero Enterprise Partner Ventures and Mela Ventures, with participation from Luthra Group.
- SBI Ventures doubled down on its existing position alongside continued backing from Rainmatter and 8X Ventures Fund I, following its Series A lead through the SVL-SME Fund (Neev II) in May 2024.
- Founded by Divanshu Kumar and Moinak Banerjee, the Chennai-based startup builds robotics and AI systems that inspect, clean, and digitise underground water and wastewater infrastructure — directly tackling leakage, contamination, and manual scavenging.
- Solinas will use the capital to deepen penetration in existing Indian markets, expand into new states and municipal corporations, and build an international footprint targeting the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
- Co-founder and CEO Divanshu Kumar said the company is targeting Rs 100 crore in revenue by FY28 and plans to extend into adjacent sectors — starting with oil & gas and defence — where the same discipline around critical unseen infrastructure applies.
- Sunil Kant Munjal, Chairman of Hero Enterprise, framed the investment around water security, worker safety, and long-term urban resilience, saying the company has "reimagined" underground networks from the ground up.
Why it matters: The round, led by Hero Enterprise and Mela Ventures with SBI Ventures doubling down, shows repeat institutional conviction in India's climate deeptech sector. Solinas's Rs 100 crore FY28 revenue target and stated pivot into oil & gas and defence reveal ambition well beyond water networks — a bet that robotic underground infrastructure management is a transferable discipline, not just a water play.
