Max Fried Leads Fantasy Week 19 Two-Start Pitchers

- Scott White published the Week 19 two-start pitcher rankings on CBS Sports, covering the July 27-Aug. 2 scoring period with all information current as of late Sunday.
- Zack Wheeler (Phillies) tops the must-start tier with starts at Miami and vs. Baltimore, followed by Chris Sale (Braves) at the Mets and vs. Washington.
- Max Fried and Gerrit Cole — both now Yankees — draw consecutive starts against the White Sox and Cubs in Chicago, landing at #5 and #6 in the must-start tier.
- Chase Burns (Reds) checks in at #3 with home matchups vs. Cleveland and Pittsburgh, while George Kirby (Mariners) faces Texas and Minnesota at #4.
- Jake Bennett anchors the 'advisable in most cases' tier below the must-start group, which also includes Michael King (Padres) vs. Colorado and San Francisco and Sandy Alcantara (Marlins) vs. Philadelphia and at the Mets.
- Payton Tolle (Red Sox) rounds out the must-start top 10 with road starts at the Athletics and Dodgers, marking a tougher slate for the rookie.
- White noted every name in the rankings 'requires a certain amount of forecasting and are, therefore, subject to change.'
Why it matters: Two-start weeks are fantasy baseball's biggest leverage point — a single tier of pitching decisions can swing weekly head-to-head matchups by double-digit fantasy points. The Fried/Cole back-to-back is especially notable since both project as automatic starts in every format despite sharing identical Chicago matchups, freeing Yankees fantasy owners from any rotation-planning anxiety.
