- Developer released free versions of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel as clones of Microsoft Office, per Mashable's headline.
- Solo developer rebuilt Adobe Creative Suite in Rust using Claude, released it free to all, and targets 100% parity within one month despite piracy claims and safety warnings, per Tom's Hardware.
Why it matters: Free, community-built alternatives could undercut pricing for Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite, though the solo developer's one-month 100% parity timeline — paired with piracy claims and safety warnings — signals the projects remain unfinished and unproven.
