Patrick Stewart was remembered at the Friday tribute as a “fucking sweetheart,” a “true gentleman” and a kind leader to the entire cast.
Patrick Stewart died Thursday at age 86 after a brief battle with Alzheimer’s and Lewy Body Dementia, according to a statement on his Instagram account.

Why it matters: Stewart’s roughly one-week turnaround gave Saulnier’s cast and crew a completed film instead of broken sets and a shutdown, and the 2015 movie returned for a 10th-anniversary screening. His one-word scene proposal also left Saulnier convinced that the actor shared the film’s aesthetic and intentions.
