- Code AI (Coalition of Digital Employees) launched in the Philippines in January 2025 to organize digital workers in the AI labor chain, joining a growing international network of resistance groups now connected through Mosacat's campaign.
Why it matters: As Silicon Valley scales up AI infrastructure, the environmental and labor costs are being exported to countries like Chile, Kenya, and the Philippines — and those communities are now fighting back through courts, coalitions, and legislation. With 18 million Mexican cyber harassment victims and only 5 convictions under existing law, the gap between AI's economic promise and its accountability is becoming impossible for regulators to ignore.
