- Hyundai's "Getaway Summer Sales Event" runs through Labor Day (August 3, 2026), offering 0% APR financing for up to 72 months, up to $10,000 in Retail Bonus Cash, and 90 days of zero payments on select models.
- Hyundai's EVs got the steepest cuts: up to $10,000 off all 2026 IONIQ 9 trims, up to $7,000 off the 2026 IONIQ 5, plus an extra $3,000 off the IONIQ 9 ($1,000 for the IONIQ 5).
- The 2026 IONIQ 5 SE RWD leases for $279/month (24 months, $3,999 due at signing) with 318 miles of EPA range; the IONIQ 9 S RWD leases for $369/month with 335 miles of range, undercutting the Kia EV9 ($379/month) and Palisade Hybrid ($479/month).
- Hyundai cut IONIQ 5 prices by up to $9,800 on some trims after the federal EV tax credit expired at the end of September 2025, saying the cuts reflect its "long-term strategy" on affordability.
- The IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 9 posted conquest rates of 69.8% and 64.3% respectively last year, and the IONIQ 5 has ranked among America's best-selling EVs outside Tesla through the first half of 2026.
- Burlington Hyundai in Vermont reportedly ran out of EV inventory and now has a waitlist as demand surges amid higher gas prices.
Why it matters: Hyundai's IONIQ 5 SE RWD leases for $279/month — roughly $180 less than a Tesla Model Y ($459/month) and $260 less than a Chevy Equinox EV ($539/month). With the federal EV tax credit expired, Hyundai is absorbing the hit via dealer-side discounts to sustain conquest-rate momentum, and at least one dealer can't keep EVs on the lot.
