- Jennie releases new single 'Someone to Hold' for Netflix animated film Steps, marking her first song for a feature-length animated project
- Netflix will stream Steps globally on November 20, featuring a soundtrack with original songs written and produced by Justin Tranter
- Steps, directed by Alyce Tzue and John Ripa, reimagines the Cinderella story around two sisters, Lilith and Margot, voiced by Ali Wong and Stephanie Hsu
- Justin Tranter produces four original songs for the Steps soundtrack, with additional vocals from Amanda Seyfried, Rose Gray, and Emei
- Kris Bowers, known for Bridgerton, composes the score for Steps, expanding his work in high-profile Netflix productions
Why it matters: Jennie’s crossover into animated film soundtracks expands her solo artistic reach beyond K-pop, while Netflix strengthens its original music pipeline with A-list talent—Tranter, Bowers, and a cast featuring Wong, Hsu, and Seyfried—amplifying the cultural footprint of an animated musical built on sisterhood and subversion.
