- Yemeni government fighters were filmed driving vehicles over Houthi opponents, per a Reuters headline, capturing the brutality of the ground war.
- A Saudi-led fightback against the Houthis has begun, per Bloomberg, with the Houthis denying they are losing ground in Yemen as coverage frames the conflict as a new active phase.
Why it matters: The convergence of coverage — Reuters on the ground brutality, the New York Times analyzing how the Houthis 'triumphed on the Red Sea,' and Bloomberg on Saudi Arabia's renewed counteroffensive — indicates the Yemen war is entering a new active phase with Saudi Arabia re-engaging militarily against a group that now threatens Red Sea shipping corridors.
