- Sarah J. Maas revealed Book 6 is titled "A Court of Splintered Harmony" (Oct. 27) and Book 7 is "A Court of Forgotten Melody" (Jan. 12, 2027), both published by Bloomsbury.
- The cover images indicate the two books together comprise "The Valkyrie Cycle," with Book 6 as "Movement I" and Book 7 covering "Movements II and III."
- Maas' caption for Book 6 reads "What was broken will be remade," while the Book 7 synopsis states "What was lost will be reclaimed."
- The announcement was made through two back-to-back Instagram posts alongside digital billboards going up simultaneously in Los Angeles, Denver, and New York City.
- The series currently includes five titles following sisters Feyre, Nesta, and Elain Archeron in the faerie realm of Prythian.
- A TV adaptation at Disney's 20th Television and Hulu, in development since 2021 with Ronald D. Moore as showrunner, was scrapped in February 2025 due to creative differences, with rights reverting to Maas.
- Maas is also the author of the "Throne of Glass" and "Crescent City" series, which have sold more than 85 million copies in English and are published in 40 languages.
Why it matters: Book 7 absorbs two movements of the Valkyrie Cycle, meaning fans receive the full arc of the new storyline across just two volumes landing within roughly three months — an unusually compressed release schedule for a fantasy series of this scale. With the scrapped Hulu adaptation returning creative control to Maas, the author retains full ownership of the franchise's multimedia future.
