- Thailand’s recorded music market accounts for 23.8 % of Southeast Asia’s recorded music revenues, according to the IFPI 2026 annual report, making it the region’s largest market.
- Timothy Xu, chair and CEO of Universal Music Greater China, said the partnership will help take Zhang’s music to new audiences in China and internationally.
Why it matters: The deals give UMG direct access to China’s massive Mandopop fanbase and Thailand’s fast‑growing music market, while giving Jason Zhang and Thai artists a global distribution platform; UMG’s global network will now channel regional music to worldwide audiences and help them reach new fanbases abroad.
