- Winter 2027 window in England reopens January 1 and closes February 1 at 11pm; Scotland shifts to January 5–February 4 at 5pm, while the WSL runs January 4–February 4.
- Premier League 2026/27 season starts August 22 — a week later than 25/26, to give players 33 days of recovery after the July 19 World Cup final — with the final round on Sunday May 30, 2027, all 10 fixtures kicking off simultaneously; fixtures are released June 19 at 10am.
Why it matters: The return to an 11pm Deadline Day ends a two-year pilot of 7pm closes, restoring a traditional late-night scramble for English clubs and their staff. The August 22 season start is explicitly designed around the 2026 World Cup final on July 19, giving elite players 33 days of recovery before competitive club football resumes.
