- Corpus Christi voters overwhelmingly approved a citizen-led petition on Tuesday, the outcome recorded in the Texas industrial port city.
- Texas was in the middle of a spate of historic political upsets when Corpus Christi voters went to the polls, and Inside Climate News and Texas Newsroom reported the result together.
Why it matters: Corpus Christi voters are the stakeholders: their overwhelming approval of a citizen-led petition on Tuesday is the concrete local action, not the statewide election drama. In an industrial port city amid historic Texas political upsets, residents backed a measure of their own — so the petition, not the upset, is the city's live decision.
