- TikTok and Made By Us Studios have struck a multi-year deal to produce a slate of creator-led micro-series for TikTok and its PineDrama app, unveiled ahead of a MIPCOM session.
- "Player" is the slate's first production — a romantic revenge thriller starring and executive produced by creator Hannah Stocking, written by Arun Blair-Mangat and Chela Reyna and directed by Louiza Zouzias.
- "The Knock" is a genre micro-series created and directed by R.H. Stavis, starring Adam Rose opposite Zaria Simone (Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin), with Moby composing the score and serving as EP through Little Walnut Productions alongside Spooky Pictures (Paranormal Activity, Weapons).
- TikTok's previous creator micro-series collaboration, "Screen Time" with Issa Rae's Hoorae, has amassed nearly 580 million views globally and become the top-performing show on the social platform and PineDrama.
- Made By Us Studios, co-led by Tanya Cohen and Leanne Perice, launched earlier this year as social marketing firm Made By Us expanded into digital production for the creator economy.
- TikTok has separately been working with Tubi this year on creator-led content initiatives, as vertical video becomes central to major social platforms' video strategies.
Why it matters: Micro-series are becoming central to how major social platforms compete for premium video talent, and TikTok is now pairing two established pipeline operators — Hoorae/Issa Rae and Made By Us — to chase the nearly 580 million views the Screen Time experiment already pulled in. The slate gives creator-economy stars (Stocking, Rose) scripted leading roles rather than short-form skits, signaling TikTok's intent to build franchises on PineDrama, not just feed content.
