- NFL power panel of more than a dozen analysts jointly ranked all 32 teams after Week 6, while NFL Nation reporters separately picked each club’s biggest offensive issue, from ineffective run games to red-zone efficiency.
- 49ers remained No. 1 at 6-0 after beating the Commanders 23-17, yet four expected top-five receivers reached IR before Week 3 and injuries to Deebo Samuel Sr. and Mike Evans forced a reshuffle at receiver.
- Rams fell outside the top 10 for the first time this season after a second straight loss, becoming the fifth team in 50 seasons to start as the outright Super Bowl favorite and lose at least four of its first six games; none of the four previous teams reached a conference title game.
- NFC East became the first division in NFL history to be winless in consecutive weeks when every team played; the Cowboys dropped six ranking spots, the Eagles five, the Giants four and the Commanders one.
- Texans followed a Week 5 win over the Titans with a 34-31 victory over the Jaguars after a 0-4 start, and Marvin Harrison Jr. debuted with three catches for 34 yards.
- Seahawks committed 12 turnovers, third-most in the league; 10 occurred in three losses, whose opponents scored 44 points on takeaways, while Sam Darnold threw seven interceptions in four games after returning from a glute injury.
- Ravens drew an NFL-worst 31 penalties, including 13 false starts and 13 holding calls; three delay-of-game flags while Tyler Huntley was at quarterback led to a season-low 10-point output against Cleveland.
Why it matters: San Francisco’s No. 1 ranking is not the product of an intact receiving group: four projected top-five targets reached IR before Week 3, Deebo Samuel Sr. missed multiple weeks, and Mike Evans exited with Achilles tendonitis. The 6-0 team has had to scramble at receiver while still winning.
