- Jennifer Todd will produce the 17th Governors Awards on Sunday, Nov. 15, at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Ovation Hollywood — her first time leading the event, in partnership with Rolex.
- Todd succeeds Jennifer Fox, who produced the ceremony for seven years, and previously co-produced the Emmy-nominated 89th and 90th Oscars telecasts alongside Michael De Luca.
- Honorary Oscars will be presented to Glenn Close (actor), Ridley Scott (director), and Floyd Norman (animator), while the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award goes to producers Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler.
- Todd's three-decade producing résumé includes Christopher Nolan's breakthrough feature "Memento" (two Oscar nominations), the "Austin Powers" franchise, Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland," and the Julie Taymor musical "Across the Universe."
- As a former Academy Producers Branch governor, Todd brings institutional familiarity to the role; Academy Chair of the Board of Governors Howell Taylor called her expertise well-suited to "celebrating the artistry of this year's exceptional honorees."
Why it matters: Todd has already shepherded two main Academy telecasts — the 89th and 90th Oscars, both Emmy-nominated — so the swap from veteran Fox is a continuity hire with broadcast polish, not a novice. Five lifetime-achievement honorees spanning acting, directing, animation, and producing now get their night under a producer with deep Academy ties.
