- One Trip will be released on November 27 as Factory Floor’s first LP in a decade, with “Continuation” / “One Trip” as the lead double single and 10 tracks on the tracklist.
- Factory Floor now comprises original members Nik Colk Void and Gabe Gurnsey alongside new addition Joe Ward.
- Dominic Butler left before the band’s second album, 2016’s 25 25, while Gurnsey and Void continued releasing music through labels including Editions Mego and Phantasy Sound.
- Phantasy Sound is putting out One Trip following a string of recent Factory Floor singles.
- Factory Floor returned to live performance at Mutek Festival in 2024; afterward, the trio said it had missed the emotional and physical connection of making music and performing together as solo artists.
- Factory Floor will bring its new live show to London Barbican on December 5, supporting Squid.
Why it matters: For longtime listeners, the comeback resolves a 10-year album gap on November 27, but it is not a full reunion: Dominic Butler left before 2016’s 25 25 and Joe Ward is now the third member. Phantasy Sound, already behind a run of recent singles, is also releasing the new record, extending its tie to the Void–Gurnsey project.
