- Chaka Khan will receive the Classic Soul Honor at the 2026 Soul Train Awards, with the award celebrating her influence on R&B.
- Over a career spanning more than five decades, Chaka Khan helped shape soul, funk and R&B, with “Tell Me Something Good” cited among her hits.
Why it matters: The 2026 recognition is grounded in longevity: Khan’s career spans more than five decades in R&B, soul and funk. “Tell Me Something Good” anchors that wider body of work, so the honor recognizes accumulated influence rather than one song alone.
