- JAFF Market announced 11 feature projects for its JAFF Future Project (JFP) development strand and 10 IPs for the JAFF IP Connection (JIPCon) adaptation program, with Boo Junfeng's 'Trinity' and Sidharta Tata's 'Slaughterground' among the selections.
- The third edition of JAFF Market, powered by Amar Bank, runs Nov. 28–30 at the Jogja Expo Center in Yogyakarta, running concurrent with the Jogja-Netpac Asian Film Festival (Nov. 28–Dec. 5).
- 'Trinity' lists 11 production countries — Taiwan, France, Singapore, Poland, Greece, Germany, Japan, Brazil, South Korea, Indonesia and the Philippines — the widest spread of any selection, with Peanut Pictures producing.
- Only two films in the slate are works in progress (Trinity and Slaughterground); the remaining nine are in development, including first features from Indonesian women directors Ninndi Raras and Dian Tamara.
- The IP slate draws six titles from Indonesia, two from Hong Kong and Taiwan, and two from Korea through an ACFM tie-up — the book 'My Upstairs Neighbors' and webtoon 'Friend Request.'
- Both slates will feed into JAFF Market's inaugural Producers Exchange, with market director Linda Gozali framing the program as a move to 'strengthen Indonesia's role as a creative and production partner.'
Why it matters: The JFP-JIPCon pairing concentrates 21 development opportunities inside one Southeast Asian market, giving Indonesian producers first-time slates while pulling Australian and Korean IP through formal partnerships with Adelaide Film Festival and ACFM — a concrete structural bet that regional co-production, not just screening, anchors Indonesian film financing.
