- Doha Film Festival unveiled its Gala Screenings and Special Screenings programs for its 2024 edition, running November 19–27.
- James Gray's thriller 'Paper Tiger' was selected as part of the festival's Gala and Special Screenings lineup.
- Maiken Baird's documentary 'Edward Said: Between Worlds,' exploring the life and legacy of the Palestinian intellectual, was also selected.
- The festival's program pairs a fiction thriller from a New York auteur with a documentary examining Palestinian intellectual history.
Why it matters: The Doha lineup signals the festival's continued role as a Middle Eastern platform that pairs Hollywood-adjacent premieres — Gray's 'Paper Tiger' — with politically resonant nonfiction like Baird's Edward Said documentary, giving Arab-region audiences rare theatrical access to both.
