NBC Sets SVU Marathon Honoring Hargitay Pre-Emmys

- NBC will air three back-to-back 'SVU' episodes on Sept. 10 — the Emmy-winning '911' (Oct. 4, 2005) plus Emmy-nominated 'Charisma' (Nov. 16, 2004) and 'Undercover' (April 15, 2008), all featuring Hargitay's Emmy-recognized performances.
- The marathon lands four days before the 2026 Emmy Awards, which Hargitay will host on NBC — making her the first woman to solo-host the annual ceremony in 15 years.
- "Law & Order: SVU" launches its 28th season on Oct. 8 and will air its 600th episode later this fall, streaming day-after on Peacock.
- Hargitay has played Capt. Olivia Benson since the show's 1999 launch, accumulating eight Emmy nominations, two Golden Globe nominations (one win), and now also serves as the series' executive producer and director.
- Outside 'SVU,' Hargitay earned two additional Emmy nominations for the documentary 'My Mom Jayne' — for outstanding documentary/nonfiction special and outstanding directing.
Why it matters: NBC is stacking its own promotional runway: re-airing Hargitay's Emmy-winning turn on its network four days before she hosts the ceremony gives the network a built-in tune-in event for the audience she'll address on Emmy night, while piggybacking the marathon on 'SVU's' milestone 28th season and 600th episode.
