- San Francisco 49ers beat Seattle 32-29 to go 5-0 for the third time under Kyle Shanahan, scoring 21 points off a season-high seven turnovers, with new receiver Mike Evans posting 113 yards and a touchdown.
- Minnesota Vikings also reached 5-0 after a 23-13 win over the New Orleans Saints, with Brian Flores' defense allowing just 13 points a game through five weeks.
- Washington Commanders and New York Giants played to a 27-27 overtime tie after both botched late chances to win — Cam Skattebo fumbled in field-goal range, then Washington ran out the clock instead of kicking.
- Jordan Love threw for 367 yards with touchdowns of 42 and 53 yards to Christian Watson as the Green Bay Packers routed the Chicago Bears 31-7 without injured quarterback Caleb Williams.
- Drake Maye passed for 374 yards and four touchdowns in the New England Patriots' 45-17 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, while Jahmyr Gibbs rushed for 207 yards and two scores in the Detroit Lions' 45-point victory over the Arizona Cardinals.
- Aaron Rodgers threw three touchdowns to reach 582 for his career, moving past Peyton Manning into third on the all-time list, as the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Indianapolis Colts 34-22.
- Los Angeles Chargers dropped to 0-5 for the first time in 23 years after a self-inflicted loss at Denver, joining the Tennessee Titans and Miami Dolphins as the NFL's three winless teams.
Why it matters: The 49ers and Vikings are now the clear NFC front-runners at 5-0, with San Francisco the only team boasting both a top-five scoring offense and defense and a track record of reaching the Super Bowl from previous 5-0 starts under Shanahan. At the other extreme, Harbaugh's Chargers' 0-5 start makes them an early front-runner for a top 2026 draft pick alongside the Titans and Dolphins.
