- VMAX launched the VX2 Lite commuter e-scooter starting at $799 for the 31-mile battery version, with a larger 56-mile variant priced at $1,099
- VX2 Lite is powered by a 500W continuous rear hub motor producing up to 1,400W peak, giving it a claimed 25 mph top speed and the ability to climb hills with up to 28% grade
- The scooter combines a 47mm oil-damped hydraulic front fork with an elastomer rear suspension system and 10-inch tubeless tires, designed to absorb cracks, potholes, and cobblestones
- Braking uses an unusual pairing of a front drum brake and rear regenerative electronic braking, with the article noting drum brakes are more durable, lower-maintenance, and avoid the rotor-curb 'ting-ting-ting' problem common on discs
- VX2 Lite weighs 48.3 lb with the smaller battery or 51.8 lb with the larger one, carries an IPX6 water-resistance rating, and includes a 60-lux dual-cone headlight with brake light
- VMAX backs the scooter with a 24-month warranty plus free shipping, local service, and customer support, and first unveiled the model at CES earlier this year
Why it matters: Full suspension, sub-50-pound weight, and 25 mph capability have been a hard combo to find under $800, and VMAX's $799 entry price undercuts most competitors that force buyers to choose between comfort and portability.
