- Ramayana: Rise of a Legend arrives this week as a major new adaptation of the Indian epic Ramayana.
- Ranbir Kapoor stars in Ramayana: Rise of a Legend alongside Yash and Sai Pallavi.
- Ramayana: Rise of a Legend will be released in English and several Indian languages ahead of Diwali, the festival of lights.
- Noor Nanji, BBC's culture correspondent, met the film's stars, with Ranbir Kapoor discussing AI in film and how he felt making Ramayana as a new father.
Why it matters: The English release and releases in several Indian languages give viewers access this week to a major new Ramayana adaptation, rather than a version limited to one language. The accompanying Kapoor interview adds a human dimension—new fatherhood and AI—to a film story otherwise centered on an epic, its named cast and festival timing.
