- WNBA will stage the first Game 7 in Finals history on Saturday, with the winner crowned a first-time champion.
- Golden State Valkyries, the No. 2 seed, host the No. 4 Atlanta Dream at Chase Center on Halloween (Saturday), both clubs chasing their first WNBA title in franchise history.
- Ballhalla has favored Golden State in this series, which the Valkyries lead 2-1 at home after taking Game 5 there Monday night.
- Atlanta Dream answered with an emphatic 80-69 Game 6 victory in Atlanta on Thursday afternoon, forcing the series to go the distance, with Allisha Gray dealing with a hand injury along the way.
- Las Vegas swept last season's Finals under the WNBA's newly adopted best-of-seven format, so the previous title series never reached a seventh game.
- Michael Voepel, joined by Alexa Philippou and Kendra Andrews, will provide courtside live analysis and highlights for ESPN throughout Saturday's game.
Why it matters: The first Game 7 in WNBA Finals history lands Saturday at Chase Center, where the No. 2 seed Valkyries hold a 2-1 home-series edge but the No. 4 Dream arrive off a Thursday win in Atlanta. Last season's best-of-seven final ended in a Las Vegas sweep; only one of these clubs will leave Halloween with a first franchise title.
