- Anthropic updated Claude to generate custom charts, diagrams, and other visualizations inline during a conversation when the chatbot determines a visual is contextually useful, rather than placing them in the side panel.
- Claude will also generate visualizations on direct request, and users can ask the chatbot to make changes to the visuals it creates, with Anthropic citing a periodic-table conversation that produces a clickable interactive element as an example.

Why it matters: Anthropic is matching OpenAI and Google on interactive educational visuals but embedding them directly in the conversation flow rather than a sidebar, lowering the friction for visual reasoning inside chats. Because the feature ships on by default to all users, every Claude conversation is now potentially visual — a meaningful UX shift from text-only responses, and a direct competitive response to ChatGPT's same-week launch.
