- IFTA is expanding the American Film Market with a new 15,000 sq ft indoor-outdoor venue called AFM House, located at The Pavilion at Century Park in Los Angeles with direct access from the Fairmont Century Plaza
- AFM House will house the market's Innovation Hub, created in partnership with Cannes Next, which launched at Cannes last year and featured AI startups and leading technology companies
- The Cinemas Club — a speaker series and exhibition co-created by the Marché du Film and Cine Group — will be a key component of AFM House after its debut at the Cannes Film Market in May
- AFM 2026 runs November 10-15 with the theme "The New Global Screen Economy," and AFM House will operate concurrently from November 11-14, accessible to all registered AFM badge holders
- The venue will host fireside chats, presentations, networking, and a marketplace for AI and tech tools aimed at transforming film and TV production
Why it matters: AFM is the largest film market in the Americas, and this expansion formalizes a dedicated space for AI and tech companies to court filmmakers, distributors, and investors — a market segment that has largely operated outside traditional film markets. The partnership with Cannes Next and the Marché du Film extends European-curated tech programming to Los Angeles, creating a transatlantic pipeline for entertainment-AI dealmaking during the November market.
