- Pink Parrot Media has boarded "Winner," a 3D animated feature from Paratha Entertainment developed in collaboration with the Rafa Nadal Foundation, handling worldwide sales excluding Spain and India.
- The film will launch for sales at the Cannes Market, per the company's announcement.
- "Winner" follows 12-year-old Uma, a girl who sells pancakes at a market and trains to face the nation's top junior tennis player Ravi; the story draws inspiration from the Nadal Educational Tennis School in southern India.
- Jaime Maestro (Animal Crackers) is directing and writing the project, with animation developed across Spain and India by Grangel Studios (Corpse Bride), La Tribu Animation (Wish Dragon), Amuse Animation (Car City), and Digitoonz (Smurfs, Ozi: Voice of the Forest).
- Bartolomé Blaya, CEO of Paratha Entertainment, is composing the film's soundtrack to be performed by the London Symphony Orchestra.
- Executive producers are Maria Bonaria Fois of Digitoonz Spain, alongside Tania Pinto Da Cunha and Marie Claude Beauchamp of Pink Parrot Media.
Why it matters: The deal gives Pink Parrot Media worldwide sales rights — minus Spain and India — to a film tied to the Rafa Nadal Foundation, launching at the Cannes Market. For Paratha Entertainment, the project pairs a debut animated feature with established studios (Grangel, La Tribu, Amuse, Digitoonz) and a London Symphony Orchestra–recorded score, stacking institutional credibility behind an independent production.
